Set up your workspace

  1. Open https://esek.io/app or the Esek app, sign in, and complete the workspace setup shown on screen. Check that you are in the right workspace before changing anything.
  2. Review your business name, business type, language, time zone and working hours. Add the services or products you actually offer, their prices, and any booking rules.
  3. Add the information the secretary needs to answer customers: what you offer, where you work, and your policies. Review imported or suggested information before using it.
  4. Start with Test drive on Home. Esek is free to start, with no payment details. Billing shows your free weekly allowance and your balance; usage beyond the allowance is paid from the balance you top up.

Try the secretary from your phone

  1. On Home, choose Test drive → Start. Add your personal phone number, including the country code when needed.
  2. Use the WhatsApp or call action offered in Test drive. Send from the personal number you registered to the test WhatsApp number shown in your workspace. Do not guess or reuse a number from an old screenshot.
  3. Try a business question, then a realistic request such as asking about a service or an appointment. Check the conversation in Esek and correct the business information if an answer is wrong.
  4. For voice, use the call option shown in Test drive and check both the spoken answer and the conversation afterward. If that option is unavailable, use the message test and ask for help with the displayed restriction.

Connect Instagram

  1. Use an Instagram professional account (Business or Creator) that you are authorized to manage.
  2. On Home choose Connect Instagram, or open Settings → Messaging channels and choose Instagram.
  3. Complete Instagram authorization using the correct account and allow the requested messaging access. Esek uses Instagram Login; do not create a Facebook Page just to follow a generic Instagram setup guide.
  4. Return to Esek and check that the expected account is listed as connected. From a different Instagram account, send it a new direct message and check that the conversation and reply appear.

Connect Facebook Messenger

  1. Have access to the Facebook Page whose messages you want Esek to handle, with permission to manage its messaging.
  2. On Home choose Connect Facebook, or open Settings → Messaging channels and choose Messenger.
  3. Sign in to the Facebook account that manages the Page. Select the intended Page and allow the requested access. This connects the Page inbox, not your personal Messenger inbox.
  4. Return to Esek and check the connected Page name. From another account, send the Page a new message and verify the conversation and reply in Esek.

Go live with real customers

  1. On Home choose Go live. Choose the channel you need: WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Incoming calls, or Outbound calls when available. Each channel is set up separately.
  2. For browser WhatsApp setup, open https://esek.io/app and sign in to your existing account. If already signed in, skip registration. From Home choose Go live, WhatsApp, then the self-service setup option shown or guided setup. Review any payment-method, activation or usage requirement displayed for your workspace before accepting it. Do not rely on a price or eligibility rule from an older guide.
  3. Facebook and WhatsApp are both owned by Meta. To connect your WhatsApp number to Esek, you must log in to your own Facebook account with access to the business and approve the connection in Meta’s setup window. Esek cannot do this on your behalf. We can guide you, including on a setup call, but you must complete the login and approval yourself. Do not send your password or verification code in chat.
  4. Before opening Meta setup, have access to the intended business assets and a phone number you control that can receive the verification method Meta offers. Read the account-access warning before continuing: connecting your sign-in number moves it away from regular WhatsApp, so Esek’s WhatsApp sign-in codes stop arriving. Your current session can keep working, but the next sign-out can lock you out if no other sign-in route exists. Choose a different business number you control before connecting.
  5. If your sign-in number is already connected, keep the current Esek session open and use Account settings to change it. The private flow requires your current authenticator/recovery code, account password, or a code to the existing verified number before verifying the replacement. SMS may still reach the existing number. If none of your existing factors is available, contact support@esek.io for identity recovery; the current session and possession of a new number do not authorize replacement. Do not send passwords or verification codes in chat or email.
  6. Check which app the intended business number currently uses: WhatsApp Business, regular personal WhatsApp, or no WhatsApp account. An app not being installed on this phone does not prove the number is unregistered.
  7. For an existing WhatsApp Business app number, update the app to version 2.24.17 or later. In Meta v4, select the country, enter that existing number on Add your WhatsApp phone number, and choose Next. Enter a new phone number does not require buying a new number. Meta detects Business app numbers and starts the app connection flow automatically; no separate app option is required. Review the profile and business details, then scan the QR when it appears using WhatsApp Business on the phone holding the number. If Meta accepts the number, you keep using the app alongside Esek. No QR on the first number-entry screen is normal.
  8. For regular personal WhatsApp, QR coexistence is not available directly. If you want to use the same number in a phone app alongside Esek, back up your chats and transfer that account through WhatsApp’s official process to the free WhatsApp Business app. The same number moves out of regular WhatsApp. Then try the Business app connection route; the transfer does not guarantee immediate eligibility. To keep the number in personal WhatsApp, use a separate business number instead. Do not delete the account.
  9. For a number with no WhatsApp account, connect directly in Meta setup and verify by SMS or phone call as offered. No WhatsApp app installation or QR scan is required. A landline or an Esek-purchased number needs Phone call when offered. There is no app chat history to import, and this route does not give the number simultaneous use in a phone app.
  10. Sharing Business app history is optional: if you approve it, Esek can import up to 6 months of history; group chats are not synced. Keep opening the Business app on the phone at least once every 2 weeks or so to maintain the connection. If Meta refuses the number, read the exact error and check eligibility or the connection route. Do not delete a WhatsApp account or disconnect a working provider to get past an error. Enter verification codes only in the official flow, and never send connection QR screenshots in chat.
  11. Return to Esek. Check the connected number and run Check again in the WhatsApp connection settings if needed. Send a new message from a separate personal phone to the business number. Confirm it appears in Esek and receives the intended reply before publishing the number.
  12. For Incoming calls, open that channel and follow its line and forwarding setup. Call the public business number from another phone and verify the secretary answers in the intended conditions. “Configured; forwarding not checked” still needs this real call test. Connecting WhatsApp alone does not prove ordinary phone calls are routed.
  13. Your sign-in or test-drive phone is not automatically your public business number. To keep it private, use a separate business number. Check the line options and requirements shown under Incoming calls before choosing a number or forwarding an existing business line. Do not publish a shared test number or an unverified forwarding destination as your business number.
  14. For Outbound calls, activate Sales & Marketing first if the app asks: it is free and needs a paid top-up, your legal business name and registration number, and accepting the automated-dialing and do-not-call terms. Then select and publish the script, enable calling, and verify the caller number. Consent and available credit are checked per call. Start with a test to a number you control, using the test action offered in the app.

Forms of address and corrections

  1. The assistant should follow the person’s stated form of address. When it is unclear, it should use natural neutral phrasing. A known personal name can be a clue, but a business name does not establish who is speaking.
  2. If Iska addresses you incorrectly, say which form to use, for example “Address me in masculine Hebrew.” Iska can save this preference to your account for future chats and workspaces. A saved preference should only be claimed after saving succeeds.
  3. Live calls can use clearly pronounced grammatical endings. Iska voice messages request selective Hebrew vowel marks to preserve distinctions such as רוֹצֶה and רוֹצָה. Unclear pronunciation or an unpointed transcript remains ambiguous; explicit preferences take priority.
  4. Customer preferences are separate. For a particular customer, tell Iska which contact needs correcting and which form to use. A customer can also correct the secretary directly. Your own preference does not change how every customer is addressed.

When something does not work

  1. Say which channel is affected, what you were doing, the exact error, and roughly when it happened. Include whether one conversation or every conversation is affected.
  2. Ask the chat to check Esek’s current system status. The status summary checks core infrastructure and selected external APIs. It does not test every customer journey, Meta message delivery, or your own account permissions.
  3. If the checked services are healthy, inspect the affected channel in Settings. Confirm the intended account or number, then try one new inbound message or call from a separate account or phone.
  4. For a message with no AI reply, check whether a person has taken control of the conversation and whether the app shows a connection, allowance, balance, or reply-window restriction. Ask Iska to inspect the relevant workspace state.
  5. If you are still blocked, use Help / Talk to support in the app. Share the channel, time, exact error, and steps already tried. A screenshot of the error can help, with private customer details hidden.
